For the ELEVENTH day…
You will need eleven pieces of licorice and the following printable:

At my house, we like to keep things pretty simple. Like cookies.
Well, OK, especially cookies. At least the kids do. All these fancy ones floating around and they want chocolate chip. Without nuts.
I can hear it now. “Oh G-A-W-D…. there’s nuts in these?!” Yep, that’s how we roll. In fact, they’ve been asking for them for about a week now, so I figured I would oblige.
So, these are for my kids {well, technically they’re teens and young adults, except for my youngest. He’ll always be my baby}.
Classic Chocolate Chip Cookies {without nuts, but you can always add some to yours}
Twelve Days of Christmas Series #12 {Classic Chocolate Chip Cookies}

Yields 5 dozen
Ingredients
- 2 1/4 C all purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp nutmeg
- 1 C {2 sticks} butter, softened
- 3/4 C granulated sugar
- 3/4 C light brown sugar {packed}
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 2 large eggs
- 12 oz package {2 C} semi sweet chocolate chips
- 1 C chopped walnuts {if you like that sort of thing}
Instructions
- Combine flour, baking soda, salt and nutmeg in a small bowl
- Beat butter, sugars and vanilla until creamy
- Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition
- Beat in flour mixture a little at a time
- Stir in chocolate chips {and nuts}
- Drop by rounded tablespoons onto ungreased cookie sheet {I used my Pampered Chef med cookie scoop}
- Bake for 9-11 min or until golden brown
- Cool on pan for two min before removing to wire cookie racks
- Store in airtight container
