Today I’m sharing the top 5 purse essentials that you should be using year-round!
When I’m not blogging, I’m having fun working at my part-time job on one of the golf courses in town. I love connecting with all of the different people I meet. The regulars {we have tons!} are particularly fun. I can’t think of another job where I’d be able to hang out and joke around with the customers as much as I do. I mainly work inside, but sometimes I drive the beverage cart as well.
My job is a lot of fun, but, it’s also hard work. I’m constantly moving, lifting, bending & standing. Many days my back is sore, or my lips are chapped from the Southern Arizona desert heat. No matter where I work, outside or in, I come in contact with a lot of people, the summers can get extremely hot, and winters driving the cart can be brutal with the wind. To help guard against these things, there are 5 purse essentials that I always have with me.
Top 5 Purse Essentials
- ChapStick Total Hydration– the sun can get strong in the summer, and with both summer and winter being so dry, I want to make sure my lip are protected. It’s got an advanced nourishing formula with argan oil and avocado butter and rose hip oils that instantly smooths and moisturizes your lips. Plus, it’s 100% natural.
- Emergen-C Immune+ Chewables– the guests here at the course are all pretty friendly, especially the regulars. There are several that have become kind of like family, giving hugs and pats on the pack. You never know who may be feeling under the weather, so I like to give my body a boost with it’s immune support. And, since they’re chewable, I don’t have to worry about slowing down to grab a glass of water. I just pop one in my mouth and away I go.
- Advil Tablet Vial– I love the convenience of the vial’s compact size. It fits perfectly in my purse without taking up too much room. With all the bending, lifting and standing I do, it helps relieve my back pain at the end of the day. And when I get the chance, I try to take it mid-day so I’m not so sore by the end of my shift. Nothing’s stronger, longer lasting or better on your tough aches and pains than Advil, and nothing works on more pains than Advil (among OTC pain relievers).
- Lotion- my hands get dry quickly with all the washing and dipping the cleaning rag in sanitizing water. Lotion helps to protect my hands and keep them soft and supple.
- This is a toss-up between facial tissues and hand sanitizer- I like to prepare for the ‘just-in-case’ situations. You never know when you’ll have a runny nose or need to clean your hands, and there’s no telling when you’ll be near a restroom to wash your hands.
Besides having these items on hand for myself, I like to be able to help my co-workers out as well. There’s always someone with a headache or dry hands. Here I am with my good friend Kim, who’s been at the course for over 14 years now.
The great thing is that I was able to get all of my purse essentials at one store, WalMart. They were all in the health and beauty department, the ChapStick Total Hydration and the Emergen-C Immune+ Chewables were right in front of the pharmacy, while the Advil Tablet Vial was in the trial & travel section.
All of my purse essentials fit perfectly in my bag, which is just the right size for whether I’m on the cart or working in the grill.
