Who doesn’t love the rich flavor of butter? When it comes to pies and cakes, butter really is a must. And, since I do really hate the thought of cutting it out of my diet, I try to cut back on calories in other ways. While thinking about how to do this, I realized that International Delight Fat Free & Sugar Free creamers have just 15 calories per serving, and would be a great substitute for heavy cream and milk in most recipes.
I’ve got a favorite cake recipe, but don’t make it very often, since it does have a lot of calories. Since cutting back in even the smallest ways is helpful, I decided to change the recipe a bit so I wouldn’t feel so guilty eating it.
The last time I used an International Delight in a recipe, I had also decided there were a few other things I could do to make little lifestyle changes.
- eat sugary foods less often and raw & whole foods more often
park further away from the store- take the stairs
- walk the dog more often
make desserts with less caloriesdrink more water
As you can see by my list, I’ve made about 50% of the changes so far. Not bad, considering how easy it is to get stuck in old habits. Are you trying to live healthier? What kind of healthy-living tips do you have?
It’s just as moist and delicious as the regular version, and, because I used the International Delight Toasted Hazelnut flavor, it’s got a great nutty taste, too. It’s perfect for serving to guests with a cup of coffee.
