By now I’m sure you’re aware of the Cooking Planit T-fal Giveaway I’m hosting. I mean, how can you not, since I’ve teased you about it, posted about it, and have even confessed my love for #CookingPlanit in my review.
Now I want to boast about these incredible pans. I was thrilled when I received my set in the mail. For starters, they are gorgeous! Just look at these beautiful red handles!
The first thing I did, after giving them a quick hand-wash, was to read the Use & Care Instructions.
The first thing I made with my new pans was scrambled eggs. I know, pretty simple to make, but it was breakfast time and I figured I may as well get to using them. The Thermo-spot {you know, that red dot right in the middle of the pan?} turns from ‘red with words’ to a solid red circle. That’s how you know when the pan is just the right temperature. This is when you would add your oil or butter {none of that non-stick spray stuff!}. I made my eggs as usual, and they were perfect! No problems with over-cooking, no soaking up the butter {thanks to the pan letting me know it was the right temp}, and no sticking to the pan! Not to mention clean-up was a breeze.
I have also used my pans for taco meat, cooking burger patties, frying lots of bacon, boiling pasta, making Spicy Peach Pork, and a whole host of other things. Basically, I have been using my T-fal pans exclusively. Sorry, old pans, I just like these better!
I have yet to use them in the oven, but you can be sure that will be happening soon!
Here are the main things you should know:
- Pans are dishwasher safe, but hand-washing is recommended.
- After the initial washing, you need to ‘season’ the non-stick pans. To do this, simply heat them on low heat for 30 seconds. Next, add 1 tablespoon of oil to the pan and rub over the entire surface with a paper towel. Repeat this every 10 uses, or if you accidentally overheat the pan.
- The cookware is oven safe to 450* {NO broiler!}
- Non-stick sprays are not needed, in fact, they can create an invisible buildup that will affect the pan’s non-stick properties.
- The saute pans are scratch resistant, just take caution when using metal utensils
