My kids love when I bake, especially when I make cookies. There’s just something about the smell of anything homemade that tingles the senses. I usually make chocolate chip, since I know it’s what everyone loves, and I’ve made them so many times that it’s like being on autopilot.
The other day, though, I decided I needed to try some new cookie recipes. I’ve always been a huge fan of red velvet cake, but I’m honestly no good with layers. Besides, cake requires a plate and utensils & never seems to get eaten around here and then goes to waste. Cookies, on the other hand, are a ‘finger’ dessert, and always disappear within two days! That’s when I decided a cake cookie was the perfect idea. A cake in the form of a cookie, it makes total sense.
I used the basic cake cookie recipe that I got from my good friend Miss Information, then I made it my own.
Also, here’s something new I’m experimenting with: printable recipe cards. I’ve been using PicMonkey for a while now for adding text and cropping photos, but it didn’t even occur to me that I could make recipe cards!
Some exciting news! PicMonkey is actually coming out with an e-book on December 4th! I’ll let you know where you can get it as soon as it’s available!
Now for the recipe:
