These cake donuts have the rich color and flavor of red velvet, without having to use a ton of red coloring! Super moist and delicious, too!
Are you a fan of donuts, but not of frying and the greasy mess that goes along with it? Not me! That’s just one of the reasons I love baked cake donuts.
The other is that there are so many easy ways to change these up. So many flavors and topping you can add. Like these chocolate hazelnut donuts. They were a huge hit with my kids, and, needless to say, they loved these red velvet donuts, too.
I always say, work smarter, not harder. That’s why I love baking these rather than frying them. And, the easiest way to bake them is in my Wilton Donut Pan. They seriously come out perfect every time!
Just fill the cavities 2/3 full {don’t over fill or you won’t have enough to go around} and bake!
The secret to getting a bright red color and fabulous red velvet flavoring is to use LorAnn Red Velvet Bakery Emulsion. Don’t you just love the bright red color?
