But these are different. I promise.
Before Mr. Disorganized and I got married {we’re talking 1990 here, people} my mom gave me this recipe for Peanut Butter Bonbons. She knew he liked peanut butter and chocolate, so she gave me the recipe.
Truth be told, I think it’s what sealed the deal, because we got married in 1991 and have been going strong ever since!
Anyway… I made them a few times and then started making them into bars to save time {all that rolling and dipping in chocolate, ugh!}. Eventually I stopped making them all together.
I pulled the recipe out a few months ago, because I decided that I wanted to share them with you. Then wouldn’t you know it? They were everywhere!
Funny thing is, I never read any of the recipes. Nope, not one. {so in reality, this may not be so different, but I think they are}
The original recipe called for graham cracker crumbs, but I changed it up a bit and used potato chips.
When I told my family what I had done, they were a bit surprised. It sounds a bit odd, I know, but the chips actually give a better ‘crunch’ factor. Not to mention adding just the right amount of ‘salty’ that goes perfectly with the ‘sweet’ of the chocolate!
