Sangria spritzer– a light, sparkling peach flavor, perfect for sharing with friends and paring with appetizers.
For me, the holidays are all about spending time with family and friends. I love getting together and serving cocktails and a variety of appetizers. I was inspired to make this fun peach sangria spritzer. It’s light and refreshing, not heavy, so it won’t weigh you down. I was able to find everything I needed at Safeway, including the ingredients for this blue cheese tomato bruschetta, which is a perfect pairing for the sangria spritzer. This cocktail is so super easy to make, and only requires 4 ingredients. First, I took a bottle of chardonnay wine and combined it with some peach schnapps.
After letting it chill in the fridge, I poured one part wine/schnapps mixture and one part 7-UP {my favorite lemon-lime soda} into a glass. I also added a peach slice, you know, to give it more flavor and to add a more festive look to it.
It was so delicious, that I couldn’t resist having a glass with Mark, so I guess I’ll have to make more for our next gathering. I’ve even got a few more 7-UP cocktail ideas floating around in my head. I love its clean, crisp lemon-lime flavor, it makes drinks so much more refreshing.
Not everyone is comfortable with having guests over, but, with a few tips, the night can be enjoyable for everyone.
Here are a few things I’ve learned about entertaining:
- serve a variety of foods to accommodate guests dietary needs {gluten-free, vegetarian, etc}
- play music in the background, but be careful of what you select, since it affects mood. Choose something that will make guests feel happy and they’ll want to stick around for the majority of the party. Soft rock and pop work well, but be sure to keep the volume at a respectable level. You want people to be able to hear each other talk
- have less seating than number of guests. This will force them to move around and socialize with each other
- be the ‘key-keeper’. Keep a watchful eye on guests who may ave had too much to drink. Discretely take their keys and have them stay the night or call a cab when it’s time for them to go
