When you live in southern AZ, ice cream is a must. With temperatures in excess of 110º for 10 days straight, summers can be brutally hot. Winters aren’t much better. Or should I say fall?
We literally have 8-9 months of hot/warm weather, 2 months of cool weather and maybe 30 days of cold weather, if we’re lucky.
Where was I? Oh yes, ice cream.
While I wouldn’t consider this peach ice cream recipe made from scratch, I totally consider it to be a homemade.
Listen, using shortcuts or mixes and tweaking them to make them your own isn’t cheating. It’s working smarter, not harder. So don’t let anyone make you feel guilty about it.
Why deal with an ice cream maker that takes salt rock that you have to babysit it all day long? I say homemade no churn ice cream is the way to go.
For this recipe, we start with fresh peaches. Dice them up and set them aside.
Next you’re going to mix three ingredients together, add the peaches and put them in a freezer container. A metal bread pan works well, too. Just be sure you line it with wax paper if it’s aluminum. You don’t want that seeping into your ice cream.
Freeze until hard, at least 6 hours, but overnight is best.
What you will end up with is this amazing homemade peach ice cream that the whole family will love. It’s perfect for family game night or even bribery.
Yes, you heard me correctly. I constantly bribe the boy with food. Hey, it works. In fact, I recently bribed him with this toffee brownie twist ice cream parfait recipe just so he would have pool time with the family. I have no shame, it’s true.
Can you see the chunks of fresh peach in there? Y-U-M.
