Ever go to the movies and buy candy and popcorn? {of course you do!} Ever eat them together?
Mr. disorganized introduced me to this concept when we were dating. In fact, it’s the same concept behind these cookies.
Best idea ever. Ever.
If you have a family, you probably do a movie night once in a while. We do. Ok, well, we don’t do it as often as we used to. When the kids were younger, it was so easy for everyone to agree on what to watch.
We seem to agree less and less now that they’re older.
But there is one thing we do agree on. Movie Theater Popcorn.
I mean, if one candy mixed with buttered popcorn is good, then three candies is much better, right?
Of course it is!

Yields 6
Ingredients
- One bag microwave buttered popcorn {popped}
- 1/4 C gummy bears
- 1/4 C Milk Duds
- 1/4 C Peanut M&M’s
- 6 oz white melting chocolate {such as Candy Quik}
- 3.5 oz milk or semi sweet melting chocolate {I used Baker’s brand semi-sweet chocolate}
Instructions
- Melt White chocolate according to package directions {in microwave at 30 sec intervals, stirring often, until melted}
- Put popcorn in a large bowl.
- Pour melted white chocolate over it and mix well. {The chocolate will give a nice light coating. You can always add more for a thicker coat, but beware, it’s pretty sweet!}
- Spread onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper
- Add candies and mix again.
- Melt semi-sweet chocolate {the same was you did for the white chocolate} and drizzle onto popcorn
- Let sit for five min before putting in refrigerator for about 10-15 min. {Just long enough to set chocolate}
Eat and enjoy with your movie!
