Men’s Pampering Gift Basket

Create a pampering gift basket to thank the man in your life for all that you appreciate about him.

With the start of the New Year, I began thinking of how blessed the previous year had been for me and my family. We had a roof over our heads {and a very nice one, at that}, food in our bellies {maybe a little too much even}, and lacked for nothing. I have even been fortunate to be able to stay home with the kids for the last several years.

The majority of this has been due to the fact that Mark works hard to take care of our family. The other day, I decided to create a special pampering gift basket just for him, just because. I don’t mind spending money on other people, but no matter what the financial situation, we should all be conscious and wise about spending habits.

Since there wasn’t a holiday or formal occasion for giving the basket, other than pure gratitude, I decided to shop somewhere that would allow me to get ‘bang for my buck’. There’s a Dollar General nearby, so I stopped in yesterday.

I know you must be thinking, “What would I put in a pampering basket for a man?” “Do men even like to be pampered?”. To answer these questions, I simply thought about some of the things my husband likes, and went from there.

There are certain things I know for sure that Mark likes, such as peanut butter & chocolate candy, coffee, and golf. When I saw the great selection of coffee, it was hard to decide. While they carried our favorite brand, at over $2 cheaper than where I normally shop, I still chose the Dollar General Brand. I did this for two reasons. 1- Mark enjoys flavored coffee now and then, but I know he would never pick any up for himself. 2- That price! Even better? It was on sale- at the register it rang up at just $4.95. Score!

After I found his favorite candy {for just a buck}, I found a fun word search, the ‘Underworld Trilogy’, and, of course, his favorite popcorn. I was surprised at how easy it was to find everything I needed to make Mark the perfect pampering gift basket.

I found a cute red bowl to put everything in, but, to make it even more fun, I painted a rectangle of black chalkboard paint. Since I wanted a imperfect look, I didn’t have to worry about making the lines totally even.

For fun, I made sure there was a variety of items he to pamper him in more ways than one {and I only paid just over $21 for all of it!}
