Medieval Times Dinner
Dine with Queen Maria Isabella as her noble guest. You’ll be treated to her favorite meal, prepared by skilled chefs and served as it would have been in Medieval Times.
Gather ‘round the table and dig into garlic bread, roast chicken, savory soups and more.
The roast chicken was so good! And it was a huge portion, nearly 1/2 a chicken!
Your meal includes two rounds of non-alcoholic drinks and even vegetarian meal options. At your request, a medieval meal consisting of pita bread, three-bean stew, rice and more can be prepared.
Cocktails and other spirits are available to order as well. I had the strawberry daiquiri first and then the pina colada.
You can get any cocktail in a fun souvenir glass or stein. I opted for the plastic since we were traveling from out of state.
Last, but certainly not least, you can eat almost the entire meal with your hands!
Kids will especially love this element of the Medieval Times Dinner and Tournament.
Medieval Times Tournament
Offering incredible ambiance and immersive dining experience, Medieval Times Tournament features a handful of knights ready to battle. Root for your favorite as the champions battle for honor right before your eyes.
We rooted for the black and white knight. My husband yelled so much that his voice was hoarse for several days afterward.
Each of the six knights represents a real Spanish kingdom, which brings the battle to life. Watch them joust and skillfully wield weapons such as swords, the alabarda or mace.
Here’s a short video I took to give you a sneak peek at the show!
We marveled at their horsemanship and falconry; just remember to keep your hands in your lap when those birds take flight over the crowd!
Learn more about falcons from the Royal Falconer, who will gladly share the history of the Falcon as far back as the Middle Ages.
Are you familiar with dressage? The beautiful horses in the Medieval Times Dinner and Tournament experience are not only skilled in battle but in the art of dance as well.
If you have little dancers in your family, they’ll be thrilled to know the horses also train diligently in dressage, also known as horse ballet.
Medieval Times horses can confidently carry a knight into battle, but not before they demonstrate their agility, finesse and ability to follow subtle commands from their riders in the form of dressage.
Once the Andalusians, quarter horses, and Friesians have fulfilled their duties in Medieval Times performances, they’re invited to retire at Chapel Creek Ranch and enjoy expert care and socialization.
Medieval Times Tour
In addition to the themed dinner and entertainment, guests at Medieval Times can also tour the castle and stables. Get up close and personal with the horses, and you can take a look at the Museum of Torture.
The Castle opens 75 minutes prior to your dinner reservation, so you can use that time to take a tour for an additional cost.
If you’re local to Buena Park, you can even visit for a school or scouting field trip. Students can attend matinee performances of Medieval Times, and you can even download information about the tournaments.
Medieval Times also offers activities for scouts to earn merit badges and participation patches.
