When I think summer, I think citrus. Lemon. Orange. Lime. Since the weather has been getting much warmer, {upper 80’s lately} I’ve been thinking about summer a lot.
Sitting out by the pool, enjoying a refreshing drink and the a/c inside, when I need to get out of the heat. Stuff like that makes me happy.
So when I saw these Campfire Key Lime Mallow Bursts, I had to try them. In crispy treats, of course.
But lime flavor can be pretty tart, and I wanted to add a bit more to them, so I topped them of with white melting chocolate. It really does help to balance out the flavor.
Recipe adapted from Campfire Mallow Bursts
Here’s all you need:
- 3 Tbsp butter
- 1 8 oz package Campfire Key Lime Mallow Bursts
- 5 cups crispy rice cereal
- 6 oz white melting chocolate
Here’s all you do:
- Melt butter over low heat
- Add Mallow Bursts and stir until melted
- Add cereal and stir until well well coated
- With the buttered back of a spoon or using wax paper, press into a greased 9×13 pan {I used an 8×8 pan for thicker treats}
- Melt chocolate according to package directions and pour over treats.
- Refrigerate until firm, about 30 min
- Cut into bars {I got 9 large bars from my 8×8 pan}
- Enjoy!
