Can I just take a minute to tell you all how fortunate I am? Not only do I have two beautiful & healthy grand daughters, but I get to see them twice a week {sometimes more}, since I watch them while their parents go to work.
A few facts about these cuties:
- Olivia is three & Emma is two
- They love to cuddle on the couch and watch movies
- They love to draw & color
- They love being outside
- They love to dance
Let’s just talk about the fact they love to be outside for a sec. They love to just run around in the backyard, and while it isn’t too terribly cold outside yet, it’s getting to be too cold for me. I’ll admit, I’m pretty high maintenance when it comes to temperature.
That being said, what do you do with two toddlers that have energy they need to expel? After the movie has been watched and there’s nothing left to color, you dance! And I have found the perfect way for them to do that, too.
Just Dance Kids 2014 from Ubisoft is awesome. I just pop it into the Wii, pick a song and away they go!
Olivia discovered “Footloose” and had a blast dancing to it. She got good at it, too!
The game has four modes:
- Just Dance {regular}
- Team Score {join forces with a partner for a higher score!}
- Freeze & Shake {stop dancing when you see the ‘stop’ sign, start dancing when a ‘shake’ icon appears}
- Balloon Pop {dance to fill & pop the balloon, shake to grab stars & points}
Since toddlers and preschoolers are still learning coordination, a great way for them to achieve that is through dance {plus it’s fun!}. While Emma just bounced & jumped around, {she wasn’t still long enough for me to get a photo!}, Olivia was watching the screen and tried her best to follow all the moves.
What I love about the game is the fact that there are songs geared for all age groups:
Littles:
- Yo Gabba Gabba! – The Freeze Game
- The Wiggles – Get Ready toWiggle
- A Pirate You Shall Be & more
Older Kids:
- One Direction – One Thing
- Selena Gomez & The Scene- Hit the Lights
- Demi Lovato – Give Your Heart A Break & more
All Ages:
- Shout
- Footloose
- The Hustle
- Walking On Sunshine
- I Like To Move It & more
Since the girls have been asking to dance every time they come over now, it’s safe to say this game is a hit.
