Do your cords get mixed up with everyone else’s? Identify them easily by marking them with washi tape!
Our house is filled with electronic devices, which also means we have a ton of chargers. It seems like someone is always losing or misplacing one, so naturally they come straight to me to borrow mine. Naturally. My husband tells me I don’t like to share, and, well, I must admit it’s true. I mean, once in a while is OK, but it seems like there’s always borrowing going on, and I don’t always get asked for permission.
Quite some time ago, along with the rest of the world, I discovered washi tape. I was instantly smitten. Immediately, I began collecting it. It comes in so many colors and patterns that I just couldn’t get enough. Fortunately, I stopped before it got out of control.
What do these two things have in common? One seemed the perfect solution to the other. I got out my Scotch washi tape stash {Scotch makes the best tape! It stays put until you take it off, not like the cheap brands you get from online discount craft suppliers} and marked both my plugs and cords.
Let’s face it, with all the interchangeable plugs and cords floating around here, I didn’t want mine getting lost in the shuffle. Tagging both the plugs and cords seemed ideal.
First, make sure your plugs and cords are clean.
Next, get out the washi tape of your choosing.
Starting at the back, begin wrapping the tape around your plug. Cut the tape just long enough so that it overlaps in the back.
Now, do the same with the cord.
I centered my tape, but you could always put it towards the top or bottom, and you could even use more than one pattern or color.
Now I can keep track of both my cords and plugs without worrying about them getting lost. The plus? They look so much prettier now!
