“I participated in an Influencer Activation on behalf of Influence Central for Planet Fitness. I received a membership to Planet Fitness to facilitate my review as well as a promotional item to thank me for my participation.”
It isn’t always easy to start and keep a fitness routine. These easy tips will help you get a jump start on reaching your goals and stay fit for life.
When I think of being fit for life, I think of more than just weight loss. I think, stamina – being able to hike or walk up a couple flights of stairs without getting winded. Sure, I want to be several pounds lighter, fit into jeans I haven’t been able to wear the past three years, but being fit is more than that.
Last October, I joined Planet Fitness. I started off great, utilizing their personal trainer, free weights, weight machines, treadmills. I even took advantage of their hydro massage tables as a reward after a particularly difficult workout. I love the atmosphere there. Everyone is so friendly and helpful, not just the staff, but the other members as well. I was also pleasantly surprised by the fact that there truly is no judgement. Anytime I go to workout, there is a variety of people there. Old, young, fit, muscular, tone, flabby, you name it. We realize that we are all at different places on our fit for life journey, and that’s OK.
I love this quote displayed on the back of one of the fitness machines. It couldn’t be closer to the truth.
I’d love to say I’ve reached my own personal fitness goal, or that I’ve even made it half way, but I haven’t. We are all human and fail from time to time. However, each and every day we get a new beginning, a fresh start. Are you ready for a fresh start?
Great, let’s talk about tips that will help you:
- Join Planet Fitness. Right now, Planet Fitness is hosting a sale through January 9, 2015 for just $1 down and $10 a month. Plus, as always, there’s no contract. I highly encourage you to join during this sale. It’s a low-cost way to try them out. I’m confident you’ll be as happy with them as I have been.
- Take advantage of Planet of Triumphs. Planet of Triumphs is a community where you can share your fitness accomplishments and gain support and encouragement from other community members. It’s a great place to inspire and be inspired!
- Use the ‘Buddy System’. This not only helps with encouragement when we feel like giving up, it also helps us with accountability. Chat with each other once a week – either in person, by phone, email or messaging – and give an update of your weekly progress. You can choose a friend, spouse, partner, relative, or co-worker, just be sure they are on your side.
- Set goals. Every good plan involves goals. Setting them, however, can be tricky. You want to give yourself a challenge, but you also need to be realistic. It’s OK to start off slow. If you find they’re too easy, you can always adjust them. These easy goal sheets are a great way to make sure you’re getting enough fruits, veggies and water each day/week.
- Reward yourself. Ultimately, your reward is a healthier, more confident, smaller you. But little rewards along the way can have a positive impact as well. Rewards should be small, and not involve food. If you hit a weight loss goal, your reward can be a new blouse or pair of jeans.
- Track your success. If losing weight is one of your goals, this fun & easy weight loss tracker is a great way to visualize your progress and keep you motivated.
