Make this Fall Mason Jar Centerpiece– perfect for any fall tablescape and can be re-used for spring and summer, too!
One of my friends is getting married soon, so several of us got together to throw her a ‘virtual’ wedding shower. Since it isn’t a party without decorations, I made a fall mason jar centerpiece to dress up the tables.
I’ve always loved flowers, not only for the beautiful range of colors and varieties, but because there’s just something about nature that lifts the spirits.
These are so pretty, and simple enough to make that you can put them together in no time.
supplies:
- mason jar
- small rocks
- burlap
- fabric flower
- small brown button
- hot glue/gun
- scissors
- flowers {I chose fall colors to go with the event theme}
directions:
- unscrew the lid from the jar and remove the inner disc; replace lid
- cut strips of burlap about 3 inches wide and long enough to wrap around the jar once, with an inch leftover
- place a dot of hot glue in the center of the burlap {lengthwise}; attach it to where you want the back of the jar to be {careful not to burn yourself!}
- wrap both sides of the burlap around the jar until the reach the front
- carefully hot glue one end down
- fold the overlapping burlap under and hot glue in place
- attach fabric flower with hot glue in the center of the burlap seam
- add a small brown button to the center of the flower
- add rocks to jar and fill 3/4 full with water
- trim flowers to desired length {depending on how tall you jar is}; I use varying lengths to give the arrangement some depth ; add to the vase
*you can either fill the jar full of flowers or just add a handful, as the rocks will hold them in place
What are your favorite flowers? How do you like to display them?
