A couple of years into owning our own business, Mark was able to cut back on all those hours he was working. Oh, he is still gone a lot of the time, but instead of working, he is golfing.
Do I mind, you ask? Yes and no.
No {for the obvious reason}, because it allows me to get done what I need to get done. Let’s face it, when men are home from work, they want, even need, our attention. While I will always be grateful for my husband needing my attention, there is such a thing as too much of a good thing!
Sometimes a girl just needs to be alone.
You know, so she can concentrate on her blog, her projects (sewing, quilting, furniture re-do’s), and ‘maybe’ the occasional episode of Doc Martin, Downton Abbey, or Absolutely Fabulous {if you haven’t guessed by now, yes, I love British shows!}.
Yes, because I wish I could just leave the house for 4-6 hours, doing what I love, forsaking any household responsibility, and not feel one ounce of guilt!
Let me be clear here. I don’t want anyone to misunderstand me {especially Mark, since he may just read this!}. I love that he gets to golf three, sometimes four, times a week. {I also like to tease him about it once in a while}. He has worked hard over the years, and now that he has the opportunity {and the trustworthy employees} to golf whenever he wants to, I think he should!
Mark plays in a local men’s league on a weekly basis, but then there are the charity golf tournaments. We’re talkin’ raffles and silent auctions here, people.
Let me just say that I am one lucky woman. My husband is always thinking of me. {HELLO…. as I write this post, he is stopping at Starbucks on his way home from picking up one of our girls… and CALLS ME to see if I want anything!} He never comes home empty handed from these events. And last Friday was no exception!
