Mark loves a good whiskey cocktail, and quite frankly, I love to make them for him. However, I always have to take his word that they taste good, because I’m usually too afraid to try them. Not that I lack confidence in my skills, but he likes his drinks rather strong, and it tends to be a bit much for me.
After making a classic whiskey peach smash, {adding a bit of elderberry to it}, I decided to be brave and give it a try.
Hey Mikey, she likes it!
Yep- it was pretty good. The peach and elderberry add such sweet flavor that the whiskey is toned down enough to where I could really enjoy it. {I know, I’m a wimp!}
I think it’s probably one of the funnest drinks I’ve ever made before, too. Either it was because I got to use my new muddler {oh how I love my new OXO muddler!} or because I had fun smashing the peach and mint!
The muddler was so easy to use with it’s soft griped handle. And can I just tell you how excited I am about the 4-piece Mini Measuring Beaker Set? With a funnel shape and spout, they’re designed specifically for measuring and pouring smaller amounts of ingredients, like simple syrup and elderberry liqueur. I just love the 2 oz, 1 oz, 1 T and 1 tsp sizes with colorful, easy-to-read measurement markings.
This Elderberry Whiskey Peach Smash was so refreshing, {and fun to make}, that I can’t wait to make it again.
