Easy Homemade Grenadine – tastes better than store bought and super easy to make!
As I have gotten older, not only have I seen the obvious changes, like wrinkles, I’ve also noticed my taste buds beginning to change as well. When Mark and I were first married, the only wine I would even consider drinking was white zinfandel. Serious wine drinkers don’t even consider it to be wine, and now, twenty-some years later, I can certainly see why.
I started liking cocktails several years ago as well, and have been experimenting with different flavors lately. I even found myself actually liking this Elderberry Whiskey Peach Smash, and we all know I’m not a fan of whiskey.
The downside to being fairly new to making cocktails at home, is that you find yourself having to buy ingredients quite often, since you are still building a well stocked bar. It’s hard to justify spending $9-10 on an 8-oz bottle of something that you only really need a teaspoon of.
A couple of months ago, when I was making these Tequila Sunrise Jello Shots, I just couldn’t justify buying a bottle of grenadine, so I found a way to make my own. It’s super easy and costs practically nothing.
