A few weeks back I was looking for a new recipe {I am so tired of our usual!} when I came across one that called for curry powder. And, of course, I didn’t have any.
But, after doing a little research, I discovered that I did have the ingredients to make my own. Now, I’m going to be honest here. I’ve never made my own spices and I’ve never made anything curry. In fact, I’ve only eaten it a few times, total, in my life.
However, I’m always up for a challenge, especially if it means finding a new dinner recipe that everyone will like.
Making my own curry powder was very easy. I looked at several recipes before deciding on what to put in mine. The main thing to remember is that you want to go beyond just mixing the spices together. You’ll actually need to grind them together. But, no worries, with the right tool, it’s a cinch!
If you haven’t got a food processor that can handle the job, a coffee grinder is perfect. Thankfully, I still had mine, which is pretty surprising, since I’d been wanting to throw it away for years, but never had the heart to. We haven’t used it in forever, and it was just taking up space.
Easy Homemade Curry Powder is the perfect blend of spices for adding delicious flavor to all your curry dishes.
