This drunken cherries recipe is not only easy to make, but these babies pack a powerful punch. Perfect for adding to any cocktail.
I’m always on the lookout for easy recipes that have a ‘wow’ factor. These cherries are it. Not only are they super easy to make, they can be made the same day you need to use them.
You’ll need to make sure you have a 32 ounce glass jar. A mason jar works well, since it has a tight fitting lid.
First, you want to empty the whole jar of cherries into the mason jar.
Next, you’ll add the vodka. Make sure you use a good quality vodka, since once the cherries are used up you will now have a delicious cherry flavored vodka.
Personally, I like to use the cherry flavored vodka to make my adult cherry limeade. It’s a very refreshing summer drink.
Next, you are going to want to be sure to put the lid on tightly. Let the jar sit on your counter for a few hours, however, be sure to keep it out of reach. We don’t want little hands mistaking it for regular cherries.
You can let the cherries sit as long as you like, just be aware that they will get more potent. I let mine sit for two days before I used them and they were pretty strong.
Once you are ready to use the cherries, be sure to drain them on a paper towel, especially if you are adding them to a baked recipe, like brownies.
You could very easily make a few batches of this drunken cherries recipe and give them as gifts for hostesses, birthdays and even Christmas.
