A DIY Disney Dole Whip Shirt is a quick and easy way to make a trip to a Disney park more fun. Plus, it shows off your personal style!
A few months back, I was invited to attend Disney Social Media Moms Celebration Land and Sea Conference. I made our reservations, booked our flights, and waited patiently.
Well, sort of. It’s now less than two weeks away, and I’m as giddy as can be. (I’m smiling huge over here!)
I’ve teamed up with some other bloggers in my area (who are also going to the conference) to create some fun DIY Disney shirts.

Since I’ve always been a fan of pineapple and I love sweets, it seemed only fitting that my shirt should revolve around a Dole Whip.
I’m so excited to wear this shirt while cruising around Walt Disney World at the end of the month.

Uploading your DIY Disney Dole Whip Shirt design
First, you’ll need to download my free SVG file for your DIY Disney Dole Whip shirt. (scroll to end for link).
Then, you’ll need to unzip the file and save it to a folder where you can easily access it.
Next, you’ll need to open Cricut design space and begin a new project.
You will then click the upload button in the middle of the left side.
Next, click the upload image button. You will then be prompted to either upload or drag and drop the SVG file into Cricut Design Space.
This is what you will see. Select save. You will be directed to a page with all of your uploaded designs.
Simply click on the newly uploaded file and select ‘insert images’ in the lower right-hand corner.
Making your DIY Disney Dole Whip Shirt
The design will then appear on your canvas. You’ll need to resize the image for optimal size, depending on how big the t-shirt is that you’re using. I made mine 11 inches wide.
Next, select the ‘make it’ button in the upper right corner.
Be sure to select the ‘mirror’ button, otherwise, your design will be backward. Then hit ‘continue’.
From there, you’ll simply follow the design space prompts to cut out the design. Don’t forget to put your heat transfer vinyl shiny side down on the cutting mat.
Use the weeding tool to remove the excess vinyl from the backing. I like to refer back to my design to make sure I’ve removed it all.
There’s nothing worse than finishing a project only to realize that you forgot to weed some of the vinyl!
I set my iron on the hottest dry setting and iron the spot on my shirt where the design will go. Then I position my design shiny side up.
You can use a clean cloth to place over your design, but I prefer to use the Cricut Iron On Protective Sheet. It distributes the heat more evenly.
Starting from one side of your shirt and working toward the other, place your hot iron on top of your design and press down for at least 30 seconds.
Lift your iron and repeat the process over the next section of your design until all of your design has been pressed with your iron.
Remove the iron on protective sheet and set aside. Allow your shirt to cool for a minute or two before continuing.
Beginning at a corner, slowly peel back the plastic of the heat transfer vinyl.
If any part of the vinyl has not adhered to your shirt, lay the plastic back down, cover with your protective sheet.
Repeat the ironing process on that spot until all of the design has adhered.
You are now ready to wear your DIY Disney shirt in style!
