Busy morning? No problem, this Chocolate Peanut Butter Banana Breakfast Smoothie made with Carnation Breakfast Essentials® Powder is super quick and easy to make, you’ll be out the door in no time!
I used to think I was a morning person. Newsflash! I’m realizing I’m more of a night owl {thanks, Mom}. Lately I find myself staying up well past midnight and struggling to get out of bed in the morning. It really wouldn’t be an issue, except that I’m the one who gets the kids up for school.
Getting up late means less time for showering, dressing and eating breakfast. I’m sure you can guess which one of these things gets cut first. Hint: it’s not the shower {stinky is a bad thing}, and it’s certainly not the dressing {um, no, I don’t send my kids to school naked, CPS worker}.
I firmly believe that everyone needs a well rounded breakfast, one that has plenty of protein to keep you satisfied until lunch, so I’m not big on giving my kids sugary cereal or toaster pastries. Even though they’re quick and easy, there just isn’t enough nutritional value in them.
That’s what I love about Carnation Breakfast Essentials powder. Not only is it super quick and easy to make, it’s got 13 grams of protein. It also has 21 vitamins & minerals and as much calcium as a 6 oz cup of yogurt per serving. If that’s not satisfying, I don’t know what is.
My mom used to but Carnation Breakfast Essentials powder all the time when we were growing up, and it was one of my favorites. I happened to see it when I was grocery shopping at Safeway the other day, and knew it was the perfect solution to my ‘short-on-time’ breakfast dilemma.
Knowing my kids get bored with foods easily, and Mark Jr can always use the extra protein, I decided to add some peanut butter and banana to the mix. Wow- was it delicious! Jr drank it up faster than anything I’ve seen, he loved it. I put it in a straw cup and he was out the door.
This chocolate peanut butter banana breakfast smoothie is just too easy to make. Add milk, banana and peanut butter to your blender.
Next, add Carnation Breakfast Essentials powder and ice. Blend.
Yes, it’s that easy. And, with so many flavors, like Rich Milk Chocolate, Classic French Vanilla, Classic Chocolate Malt, Dark Chocolate, Strawberry Sensation, and the Variety Pack (which has multiple flavors), there are tons of delicious smoothie recipes just waiting to be made!
