There’s just no way around it, I’m a total carb-a-holic. I blame it on my upbringing- pasta twice a week, Mexican food, potatoes or some other starch with every meal, etc. Even as an adult, I’d much rather have french fries and pizza than a salad. Or bread. I honestly think I could eat sourdough toast slathered with butter all.day.long.
That’s just one of the many reasons I love these cheesy cheddar onion rolls. The sharp cheddar combined with the distinct flavor of green onion all bundled up in pieces of refrigerator biscuits is so good, I had to stop myself from eating them all!
This recipe is so easy, and so delicious, you’ll want to make them with every meal.
There are literally only 4 ingredients, and I’ll bet you’ve already got them in your fridge! After minimal prep work, simply toss it all together, plop some into muffin cups and toss it in the oven. Soon you’ll have the best cheesy rolls ever.
I like to top them with more cheese and onion immediately after they come out of the oven, because, let’s face it, you can never have enough cheese. Ever. These rolls would be pretty awesome with any meal, especially a brunch or potluck.

Yields 1 dozen
Ingredients
- 2 8-ounce tubes refrigerator crescent dough
- 6 tablespoons butter
- 1 cup + 1/4 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese, divided
- 3 Tablespoons chopped green onion, divided
Instructions
- Without unrolling, cut crescent rolls into 1-inch pieces; set aside
- Melt butter in a medium microwave safe bowl
- Add cut up dough pieces, 1 cup of the cheese, and 2 Tablespoons of the onion
- Toss to mix
- Spoon evenly into a 12-cup muffin tin
- Bake at 425 degrees for 12-15 minutes, or until golden
- Immediately top with remaining 1/4 cup shredded cheese and Tablespoon chopped onion
- Serve warm
