This Black and Blue Berry Vanilla Protein Smoothie is perfect for busy mornings when you just can’t seem to get out of the door on time!
Getting up and out the door on time hasn’t been one of my strengths, for sure. And the kids, even though they have their own alarms, never seem to get out of bed until I drag them out. Needless to say, we are always in a time crunch.
Knowing that breakfast is literally the most important meal of the day, I feel super guilty if the kids leave the house hungry. Since making a full on breakfast is out of the question time wise, I try to find healthier substitutions. Toaster pastries are fine once in a while, but I usually just steer clear of them.
Smoothies are one of my favorite ways to ensure my kids don’t leave the house hungry and that they get nutrition first thing in the morning. I love that they are so versatile. There are so many combinations, I don’t see how anyone could ever get bored with them!
I use fresh fruit whenever I can, but organic frozen fruit lasts much longer, eliminating a lot of waste.
