Do you ever get so busy that you end up not doing half {or in my case 3/4} of the things you set out to do?
Yes, it’s been one of those weeks.
With back-to-school shopping and a {quick} trip to Southern California to visit my grandmother last week I didn’t exactly have a chance to prepare for this weeks posts.
But I sure found time to watch the first three “Underworld” movies with my sister Christine.
I meant to have had at least two posts this week.
I meant to update you on the pups and their mamas.
Our puppies {all 16 of them} are three weeks old now. Pictures, yes, I know. I promised pictures.
Here are a few of the little guys. They are eating like crazy and are ready for gruel. We will start that on Saturday.
They will not know what to do at first. Stepping all over each other trying to get to the dish.
And then stepping in the dish.
Making a huge mess.
And they will be happy, happy little piggies.
And the mamas will finally get a break.
They have been such good mamas that I decided to make them a special treat.
With bacon and peanut butter.
What dog could resist?
Ingredients
- 4 cups flour { I used whole wheat. You can also use 50/50 wheat and spelt)
- 2 cups quick-cooking oats
- 1/4 cup flax seed
- 2 1/2 cups warm water
- 1/2 cup natural peanut butter
- 1/4 cup bacon fat {you can also cut up a piece or two of bacon and add it to the dough as well}
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350*F
- Combine flour, oats and flax seed in a large bowl
- Stir in water, peanut butter and bacon fat
- Knead dough on a lightly floured surface, mix in more flour as needed until dough is no longer sticky
- Roll dough to 1/4″ thickness
- Cut with cookie cutters into desired shapes and place 3/4″ apart on greased cookie sheets
- Bake 40 min. Turn oven off and leave biscuits in oven until cooled
Serve and {watch your dog} enjoy!
Thanks for visiting I Love My Disorganized Life!
*Yes, I did realize that I misspelled ‘peanut butter’ and ‘biscuits’ on the photos. But it was too late to go back and change it. Forgive me? I’m still working on this thing they call ‘perfection’.
