Made with all natural ingredients and lavender and tea tree essential oils, this natural underarm deodorant is a great alternative to commercial products laden with aluminum.
If the thought of putting toxic aluminum on your skin makes you cringe, you will love the simplicity of this easy-to-make deodorant. Not only does it have a pleasant smell, it’s also silky-smooth to the touch.
It takes just 5 ingredients and costs pennies, which is easy on your wallet as well as your body.
First, melt the coconut oil in a microwave-safe glass bowl and allow to cool until warm. Blend in the Young Living lavender and tea tree essential oils and set aside.
In a separate glass bowl, combine the baking soda and cornstarch. Pour the oil mixture into the dry mixture and stir until well combined and smooth.
Pour into a glass container {I used an 8-ounce wide-mouthed mason jar} and let cool before capping. Refrigerate until set, about 20 minutes or so.
You can apply it with a cotton pad or ball, but I found it easier to just use my fingers, since it absorbs nicely without leaving any residue on your skin. A little is all you need, so be careful not to use too much.
I have been using this natural underarm deodorant for a while now, and I love it. The cornstarch and baking soda soak up moisture and odors, while the tee tree essential and lavender essential oils are antibacterial & anti-fungal and give the deodorant a pleasant fragrance.
If you love essential oils as much as I do, be sure to check out the Young Living deal of the month!
